Considering
my past, and considering the fact that I have been backsliding
ever since I heard of the gospel, I really must be a fool to
think that there is hope for me.
Says
Jesus, ` ``The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan. I gave my
life for these souls. They are graven upon the palms of my
hands. They may have imperfections of character; they may have
failed in their endeavours; but they have repented, and I have
forgiven and accepted them.'' ' (PK589)
`The
Saviour loves all the human family.' (DA524)
`None
have fallen so low, none are so vile, but that they can find
deliverance in Christ. The demoniac, in place of prayer, could
utter only the words of Satan; yet the heart's unspoken appeal
was heard. No cry from a soul in need, though it fail of
utterance in words, will be unheeded. Those who will consent
to enter into covenant relation with the God of heaven are not
left to the power of Satan or to the infirmity of their own
nature. They are invited by the Saviour, "Let him take
hold of My strength, that he may make peace with Me; and he
shall make peace with Me.' Isaiah 27:5 (DA258/9)
`No
circumstances of birth or nationality, no condition of life,
can turn away His love from the children of men.'
(DA194)
`Whatever
may have been your past experience, however discouraging your
present circumstances, if you will come to Jesus just as you
are, weak, helpless, and despairing, our compassionate Saviour
will meet you a great way off, and will throw about you His
arms of love and His robe of righteousness. He presents us to
the Father clothed in the white raiment of His own character.
He [Jesus] pleads before God in our behalf, saying: I have
taken the sinner's place. Look not upon this wayward child,
but look on me.' (MB9)
`Your
hope is not in yourself; it is in Christ. Your weakness is
united to His strength, your ignorance to His wisdom, your
frailty to His enduring might.' (SC70)
`The
Father has bread enough and to spare. Arise, and go to your
Father. He will meet you a great way off. He will give you His
love and compassion.' (1SM325)
